Not a photo album.
A memory book
you both write.

From the first scan to their eighteenth birthday, both parents write your child's story in your own words — and it becomes a real hardback book they keep for life.

Why we built it

You forget the small things first.

The photos survive. The feeling doesn't. You have four thousand pictures on your phone and not one of them tells them what you were thinking the day they arrived.

  • The way they said "lellow" for eleven months, and then never again.
  • What their laugh sounded like when they were three.
  • The night you sat on the landing and just listened to them breathe.
  • What you promised them before they could understand a word of it.
Memory prompts in the app: something they are good at, a worry they shared with you, a song they keep singing

The prompts ask about them — not your camera roll.

The difference

A photo book shows what they looked like. A memory book tells them who they were.

Everyone else is building a better place to put your pictures. We're building the place to put your words — the story only the two of you can tell.

A photo albumPictures, sorted by date. Lovely to scroll. Silent about the rest.
Our ChaptersWhat happened, what it felt like, what you want them to know — written by both parents, printed as a book.

Inside the app

Built for two tired parents, not for an audience.

No followers. No likes. No algorithm deciding what matters. Just the two of you, writing it down before it goes.

Two voices. One story.

Mum writes hers. Dad writes his. Both sit side by side on the same timeline — because your child deserves both halves of the truth, not just whoever happened to be holding the phone.

Each parent owns what they wrote. Nobody edits anybody else's words.

Two parents. Two voices.

The same moment, seen completely differently.

One day your child gets to read both. That is the thing no other app gives them.

MMum’s entry

First day at nursery

She walked straight in. Red coat she chose herself, bag she carried herself. One small wave at the door — more of a dismissal, really. Collected at 3pm. Verdict: “fine.” Asked what was for tea.

DDad’s note

First day at nursery

I cried in the Tesco car park after the settling session the week before. Didn’t tell her mum. Leaving this here so she knows one day.

Written 1 April · Year 2

Both of those belong in the book. Both of those parents were there.

A minute is enough.

Give it a title, write what happened while you still remember how it felt, add a photo. Five hundred characters — short enough to finish, long enough to matter.

Tag it as a milestone or a first, and it finds its own place in the story.

Their voice. The way they moved.

Photos hold their face. Only a recording holds the giggle, the mispronounced word, the song on repeat — or the wobbly first go at something they'd never done before.

Record a voice note straight onto a memory, or attach a short video. Years later it plays back exactly as it was.

One voice note free to try. Voice and video are included on Premium.

Never stuck for words.

Blank pages are why baby books die in drawers. Ours asks you something gentle and specific for the age they are right now — a worry they shared, a song they keep singing, something they're quietly good at.

Answer one. That's a memory. It takes a minute.

Age-appropriate memory prompts

Start today, or start at the beginning.

Got a six-year-old and think you've missed it? You haven't. Add the years you've already lived and they drop into the right place on the timeline automatically. Backfill at your own pace.

There is no late. There's only started and not started.

Adding earlier memories to the timeline
The keepsake

One day it stops being an app and becomes a book on a shelf.

Everything you've both written, professionally printed and bound as a hardback. Not a glossy photo book with captions — a real book, with real writing in it, that your child can take with them when they leave home.

Your book builds itself as you write. Open the Book tab any time to see how it's shaping up, how many pages you're on, and what it costs.

What a page actually says

14 March · Age 4

The landing light

You've started asking me to leave the landing light on. Not because you're scared, you told me — but "so you can find me if you need me in the night." I said I'd always find you. You said "I know," and went straight to sleep, and I stood outside your door for a bit longer than I needed to.

Close up, a page reads like this. The words are the point — the photo is the company they keep.

Order one. Order six. Order another one in five years.

There's no limit and no deadline. Print one for your shelf, one for each set of grandparents, one for the child who moves out. Every book is made fresh from whatever is on the timeline the day you order it — so the one you order at four and the one you order at eleven are two completely different books.

How it works

Three things. That's the whole product.

Write it down

A minute at bedtime. A voice note in the car. A photo with a line about what was actually happening. Both of you, whenever it strikes.

Watch it become a story

Everything lands on one private timeline, in order, from the first scan onwards. It starts to look like a life, because it is one.

Hold it in your hands

When you're ready — a birthday, a christening, or the day they move out — order it as a hardback book. Then start the next one.

Questions

Everything you’d want to know

Before trusting us with your family’s memories.

What is Our Chapters?

A UK-built memory app for parents. Both mum and dad capture the meaningful moments of their child’s life — from the first scan through to their eighteenth birthday — and those memories print into a beautiful hardback book your child keeps forever.

Why is it built for both parents?

Because mum and dad see the same moment completely differently. When your child rides a bike for the first time and falls off, one of you sees panic and the other sees pride. Both of those stories belong in the book. Most memory apps default to one parent. We are built around two — and both parents write on every plan, including free.

Does one subscription cover all our children?

Yes. One subscription covers your whole family — all your children, both parents. We will never charge per child for a product built around the whole family.

What’s the difference between Free and Premium?

Free gives you up to 50 memories per child, one photo per memory, one voice note to try, and you can order any of our book tiers. Premium unlocks unlimited memories, up to five photos per memory, voice notes and video clips. Both parents write on either plan — that is never behind a paywall.

What is a Founding Member?

The first 100 families to join become Founding Members, paying £29.99 a year instead of £44.99 — and that price stays locked for as long as you remain a member. Once the 100 places are gone, they are gone.

How does the hardback book work?

As you add memories and photos, they build into your child’s story. When you are ready — after one year, every year, or all eighteen — you order a professionally printed hardback. It arrives at your door with both parents’ voices inside, every chapter in order. £34 for a 30-page book, then 50p for every page after that, up to 300 pages. Books can be ordered on any plan, including free.

Can I order more than one book?

As many as you like, whenever you like. One for your shelf, one for each set of grandparents, another one in five years. Every book is made fresh from whatever is on the timeline the day you order it.

What happens to my memories if I cancel?

Your data is always yours. If you cancel, your memories and photos stay safe — you simply move to the free tier. You can still order a book covering any period. We will never delete your memories because you stopped paying.

Is my data safe? Where is it stored?

Your data is stored with our secure provider on UK and EU servers, encrypted in storage and in transit. There is no interface anywhere in our company for staff to sit and browse a family’s memories — administrative access is restricted, authorised and logged, and is used only for defined purposes such as a rights request, maintenance, safeguarding or security. We are ICO registered (C1922794) and UK GDPR compliant, and we will never sell your data.

Do you store my child’s location from photos?

No. We automatically strip location (GPS and EXIF) data from every photo and video the moment it is uploaded, so we never hold a record of where your child has been. It is built in by default, on every plan, with nothing for you to switch on. The only place a location ever appears is if you choose to type one into a memory yourself.

Can both parents really write, even on the free plan?

Yes, always. Two parents, two perspectives, one story is the entire point. We would never put that behind a paywall.

Do you use AI on our memories?

No. We do not use your family’s memories to train AI, and we do not generate images of your child. What you write is what your child reads.

What if Our Chapters ever shut down?

You would receive 90 days’ notice and a full export of everything — every memory, every photo — before the service ended. We will never shut down without giving you your data back first. That commitment is written into our terms.

Is it on iPhone and Android?

Both. Our Chapters is live now on the App Store and Google Play.
