Starting from your first scan. The early months are on us.
From pregnancy to their eighteenth birthday. Both parents write. One beautiful hardback book. For them.
Why this exists
I built this because one evening I realised I'd already started forgetting. Not the big moments. The small ones. The ones I was certain I'd never lose.
You were there for all of it. The joke that made everyone collapse. The exact way she said that word wrong for two years. The tiny rituals you swore you'd never forget. Life got busy. The details went first.
Most apps default to mum. Dad ends up as the photographer — present in every picture, absent from the story. Your child deserves both parents' version of their own childhood.
You have thousands of photos. What you don't have is the meaning behind them. What was she thinking? What were you feeling? A gallery of images is not a story.
You think you'll do it properly when things slow down. They don't slow down. The first year becomes the first five years. The window to capture it properly gets smaller every day.
Our Chapters is my attempt to fix that — not just for me, but for every parent who loves their kids fiercely and is losing the details anyway. Your memories always belong to you. Your data is always yours. And one day, it all becomes a book.
— Alex Stokes, Founder · Dad to two girls · Northampton, UKHow it works
Three steps. Both parents. One book they'll keep for the rest of their life.
A few words, a rough note, a photo. Thirty seconds. That's all a memory takes. Add as little or as much as you like — every word counts.
Mum writes her version. Dad writes his. Two perspectives on the same life. Your child gets to read both. That's the gift.
Order a professionally printed hardback after one year, every year, or all eighteen. Both parents. Their whole story — in their hands.
Two parents. Two voices. One story.
Your child will one day read both. That's the gift no other app gives them.
She walked straight in. Red coat she chose herself, bag she carried herself. One small wave at the door — more of a dismissal. Collected at 3pm. Verdict: "fine." Asked what was for tea.
I cried in the Tesco car park after the settling session the week before. Didn't tell her mum. Leaving this here so she knows one day.
Both of those stories belong in the book. Both of those parents were there.

Who built this
I'm Alex Stokes. PE teacher. Dad to two young daughters. And the person who caught himself one evening realising he'd already started forgetting bits of his eldest's first year.
Not the big moments. The small ones. The way she said a word wrong for two years and we never corrected her because it was too perfect. The look on her face the first time she did something she was proud of. The things you swear you'll never forget.
I went looking for an app that would help both parents — not just mum — capture those moments properly. Something that would last 18 years. Something that would one day become a real book she could keep.
I couldn't find it. So we built it. My co-founder Danny leads the technical build. I lead the commercial side. Between us we have the foundation and the reason to get it right.
Every chapter of their life, written by the people who loved them most.

Get in touchWhat I tried first
Before building Our Chapters, I spent months trying every memory app I could find. This is what I learned — and what was missing from all of them.
Photos capture the moment but not the meaning. What was she thinking? What was I feeling? I had thousands of photos and none of the words. A gallery of images is not a story.
Every memory app I tried defaulted to mum. Dad was either absent or an afterthought. Our children deserve both versions of their story — not just the one that remembered to open the app.
Most of the established apps are US or German-built. Different compliance standards, different currency, different culture. None were built with UK families in mind.
I watched parents lose years of memories when apps were acquired, abandoned, or simply closed. The problem wasn't the feature set. It was the promise. Nobody built it with longevity as the priority.
None of this is a criticism of the people who built those apps. They solved real problems. Our Chapters is built to solve the ones they left behind. UK-built. Both parents. Story-led. Designed for the long run.

"I saw the book preview and genuinely got emotional. I hadn't expected that at all. My husband and I both cried a bit. That's when I knew this was different."
Early tester · Mum of one, aged 2"What got me was seeing both our entries side by side. Same day, completely different stories. She'll read both one day. That's everything."
Early tester · Dad of two"I've tried four memory apps and deleted them all. This one felt different from the first memory I added. The dual-parent bit is what's missing from everything else."
