Last updated: 31 May 2026 · Version 2 (interim, pending final legal review)
Our Chapters Ltd provides a digital platform for parents and guardians to record, store and share memories of their children. Company number 17192759. Registered office 46 Grasscroft, Northampton NN2 8TR. Contact: info@ourchapters.co.uk.
You must be 18 or older, create an account using accurate information, only upload content relating to your own child or family, and act in your child’s best interests. You may not use the service if prohibited by law.
By using the service, you confirm that you have parental responsibility for each child you create a profile for; you have the right to upload their data; you have permission for any third-party faces included in your content; and you will act in the child’s best interests at all times.
You are responsible for keeping your login details secure, for all activity under your account, and for ensuring your information is accurate and kept up to date. We may suspend or restrict access if we believe your account is compromised or misused.
You retain ownership of all content you upload, including text memories, photos, videos and voice notes. By uploading content, you grant us a limited licence to store it, display it within your account, process it to generate your printed book, back it up, and provide customer support. We do not claim ownership of your memories.
You confirm that you have the right to upload the content, that it does not infringe anyone’s rights, and that it is lawful and appropriate. We may remove content that breaches these Terms or poses a safety risk.
You must not upload content that: is sexualised, exploitative or harmful; includes medical imagery unless necessary; includes school reports or sensitive documents; features other people’s children without permission; reveals a child’s location, routine or school; is abusive, degrading or harmful; or is unlawful or infringes rights.
You must not impersonate a child or another parent, create fake child profiles, use the service for commercial purposes, scrape, export or misuse content, or use exported content to harass or harm others.
Our Chapters supports two parents contributing to a child’s timeline. Each parent owns the memories they personally create, and you cannot edit or delete the other parent’s contributions.
If parents separate, either parent may use the Create Separate Account feature to create a new account, transfer a copy of the memories they personally created, and continue their own timeline independently.
We do not mediate disputes between parents. If parents disagree about access, deletion or ownership, we may restrict access temporarily, preserve data, comply with court orders, or act to protect a child’s safety. We may also take action against users who submit false or malicious reports.
We may remove content or restrict accounts where necessary to protect a child’s safety, comply with legal obligations, or respond to safeguarding concerns. We may contact the relevant authorities if we believe a child is at risk.
If someone featured in your content contacts us, we will assess the request, may ask you to edit or delete the content, and may restrict access where required by law. We may remove content to comply with legal obligations.
We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, error-free operation, or that content will always be available. Uploads may fail due to network issues, third-party outages (such as Supabase, Stripe or Prodigi), maintenance, or file corruption. We may limit upload size, frequency or file types, and may take the service offline for maintenance.
We are not a guaranteed backup service. You are responsible for keeping your own copies of important memories.
Some features require a paid subscription. By subscribing, you agree to pay the fees shown at checkout, to recurring billing until you cancel, and to provide accurate payment information. You may cancel at any time, and access continues until the end of the billing period.
Refunds. Refunds are provided where required by law. You may not be entitled to a refund if you have already accessed digital content, if you change your mind after the cooling-off period, or if a printed book contains errors in the content you supplied. We may offer goodwill refunds at our discretion, and may change pricing with reasonable notice.
If you order a printed book, you are responsible for checking your content before ordering; we are not responsible for errors in the content you supplied; delivery times are estimates; and refunds are provided where required by law.
Our use of your data is explained in our Privacy Policy. By using the service, you agree to the Privacy Policy.
We may update features, pricing or storage architecture, and may migrate media to a specialist provider such as AWS S3. If we do, we will update these Terms and our Privacy Policy. We may also introduce optional new features (such as AI-assisted writing) in future; where a new feature involves additional processing of your data, we will provide updated terms and seek any consent required before it applies to you.
We may archive or delete inactive accounts after a reasonable period. We will notify you before doing so.
If an account holder dies, we may grant access to a verified next of kin or legal representative, may require documentation, and will not disclose memories without appropriate authority.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for loss of memories, emotional distress, disputes between parents, misuse of exported content, third-party outages, or indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability where it cannot be excluded by law, and your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.
We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, misuse the service, act unlawfully, or pose a risk to others. You may delete your account at any time. Upon deletion, your memories and personal data are removed from active systems and backups within 30 days, and billing records are retained for legal reasons.
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes will be handled by the courts of England and Wales.
If you have any questions about these Terms, please contact us at info@ourchapters.co.uk.
